Reviews
Very impressive setting and atmosphere backed up with high standard Zaraffa's coffee and restaurant grade food. My food choice was grilled chicken fillet on Turkish bread. Chicken fillet can be dry but smashed avocado, sour cream and tomato? salsa made sure it wasn't. Love the hole in the wall to peer through (I can't tell you the secret sights, see for yourself) and just such a cool vibe The coffee roasting factory is on display too.
Located inside Distillery Rd, it's a great cafe, I've been a couple of times now.
On my last visit, I can distinctly remember the very warm and lovely interaction with the staff member who took my order.
I settled down at a table near the fireplace to get toasty warm as a respite from the cold putside.
I ordered a coffee which was delicious. I can't tell you what I ordered food wise as I think it was a special and I can't see it on the menu. But that too was delicious.
My only complaint is the bistro feel of having your go up and get your order yourself when your personalised buzzer goes off. But that's personal choice
My whole experience definitely left me wanting to return.
Service was a major fail. The male Junior taking orders did not greet or smile, basically just stood there, we had to drive the conversation.
Coffee also a fail. Watery and no crema at all on the long black. Flat white was also thin and watery with no foam.
However, congratulations to the kitchen!!! Brekky burger had a generous amount of bacon, really good hollandaise and a lovely soft bun. The sweet potato fritters - pretty and very, very tasty. Everything on the plate was awesome however, because the avo and labneh were quite lovely and soft, as a whole the dish was quite creamy. Sweet potato is very difficult to keep form or crunch so while I loved the tastes in the dish, I'd have been even happier with either a crunchy rosti or corn fritters underneath all the other yuminess. Again, well done kitchen 👏
Great place for the Chaplain’s Fund Raiser dinner. Staff are awesome and food was great. Helped with the set up. Thanks for having us there.
We came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Amazing atmosphere, quite spacious with many seating options and ample of parking.
Zaraffa coffee and pretty good variety in menu too - some of them can be made vegetarian option. The cash register set expectations that we could wait 25-30 minutes for the food (it was a bit busy around 8.30am) but luckily it didn’t take that long, 15 minutes and all three dishes we ordered are ready. Taste great.
Will definitely come back again! A nice cafe addition conveniently close to North GC.
Kiwanda when it first opened was a refreshing difference for the Beenleigh area which offered great food and coffee at reasonable prices. Unfortunately the past 6 months has seen a decline in both service and food.
Whilst it's not fair to say that all staff are unprofessional, the relatively high turnover has brought some issues to the surface. Some staff show a positive disdain for people with food intolerance.
The quality of the food has remained relatively high, however, the value for money has plummeted recently, well beyond any inflation. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. The menu also seems to change very frequently, which in some ways is good, but it means that some favourites are no longer available.
I increasingly feel like there are much better value for money options in the area, and I think Kiwanda forgets about the competition.
Wow. What a lovely venue, open and spacious, zarraffa's coffee is on offer as you enter and all the yummy sweets. You can also order you food as you enter. The menu offers something for every taste. We had a large party of ladies and reserved our table lucky as it did get rather busy. All or food was presented beautifully. Hot and fresh. Flat and sparking Waters are on offer free of charge and help yourself. We are now going to book in monthly to enjoy this venue regularly. Highly recommended
Our son shouted us for late father's day brunch today. As always I get to choose the place. We decided to try this venue. Ohh my!! The place is really nice. I live locally but didn't know about this place! Plenty of parkings, clean toilet, inside the cafe were so spacious, very relaxing feeling about it. The staff were friendly. The menu is plenty to choose for any dietary requirements. And the service was quick. We didn't have to wait long. About 10 minutes our orders were ready. We had Corn and zucchini fritter, maple syrup French toast and the Calamari that so bloody tender! The Calamari ever!
They also have market here every first and third Thursday of the months. We will definitely check it out! Very highly recommend this place and for sure we will come back to try other menu👍😋👍
